Outdoor Game Instruction Cards: Visual Aids for Summer Camp Counselors, Teachers, Environmental Educators, and Facilitators. 20 Active Games
These visual instruction cards are a compilation of twenty of my favorite outdoor games from my eighteen-year career as an environmental educator, summer camp counselor, and forest-school Director. I’ve designed these images and written instructions make it easier for visual learners to understand the directions of games, with comic-style images that hold the attention of students who are eager to play a new game.
This set of 20 games includes running, sneaking, role-playing, teamwork, and agility/strategy games. They can be played with very little materials, most requiring only bandanas. Most games are appropriate for ages 5-12, but there are a few that are better for one end of that age spectrum of the other. All games are ideal for groups of 4 children or more.
After you download the game cards, I suggest printing and laminating them and using them as an instructional aid when teaching a new game, and as a visual reminder of the rules throughout the game.
